~8-8-05~ Long post......

what have we got ourselves into??????????


i thought i posted on this topic before, but i couldn't find them to link back to, so i guess i am going to have to start at the begining.........LONG!


so i guess back at the end of june beginning of july bob and i were at walmart. i don't exactly know where bob was, but i was doing my shopping and this guy comes up to me. he said he "was having a problem he was trying to get a box of "peppers" but they would let him use the foodstamp card for them, mumble, mumble, mumble, could i help him?"

i really didn't know what the hell he was talking about, i couldn't understand why he couldn't buy "peppers" with the food stamp card. so i finally asked how much the "peppers" were. so he takes me to his cart and shows me this box of PAMPERS!!!!

so then it finally clicked what the hell the guy was saying/asking. he wanted to pay for my groceries with his food stamp card and me give him the cash! so i was like, dude, look at my cart i have like $200 in here, i don't have $200 in cash!!!! i told him i'd find my husband and look for me later.

so, yes i know it is against the law and all, but his kid needed diapers!!!!! so i found bob and we dug $30 dollars of groceries out so we could give him the money to buy diapers. so bob got to go do all of that....

next thing i know bob comes back and tells me that these are the people who are renting his friend's mom's house 2 doors down from us, who just moved in!!!!!! we have seen them a few times, all 800 of them, bob recognized one of them that is how he made the connection. they thanked him and all of that. so we felt good, we did our good deed for the day. (this all took WWWAAAAAAAAAAYYYYYYYYYY longer, than a few paragraphs!!!)

then as we were checking out we saw him going up to OHER people with the same story!!! whatever, bob did see the mom taking the diapers out to the car, so we know that the baby actually did get diapers.

so move forward a bit, now i see the guy walking down the street all the time, he says hi, i can't understand what else he is saying, so i just wave and smile.

a few days later, the one girl comes to use the phone. about 3 times that day!! we were having an open house that day and when our realtor shows up an ambulance comes tearing down the road and it stops at their house! i was trying to be nosy, but i had some things to finish up in the house, but when i left, it wasn't there anymore. later that night after 10pm and my doorbell rings. i answer the door and it is that girl AGAIN and she asked if she could use the phone to call 911 one little girl there burned her leg on a cord or something. i don't know??

the next day we are in the back yard with clay's new bouncy thing and i see some lady come walking up with bob. i was hoping it was someone about the house, no here it is the MOTHER wanting to use the phone to call steve, bob's friend, that is renting the house. so i go in to be nosey. here i guess a few days earlier their electric was screwed up and she lost all of the food in her freezer. she had to pay the electrician $250 and steve's mom was supposed to be sending her a check for that, but now she was out of food and out of money. she wanted to see if steve could give her some of her deposit to go buy some more food.

so me being the kind heart i am went to the basement and dug out a bunch of food and gave it to her to hold them over til they got some money. awwww....i'm so nice!

well an hour later....DOORBELL!!! it is the girl again.........wanting to know if they could borrow $20!!!!!!!!!! i just gave them a ton of food!!!!!!!!!! WTF????

that was a sunday. their phone wasn't getting on til tuesday, so they were here a few more times.

here is a little background on the people. the mom is 28. all the kids except 2 are foster kids. the girl i am always talking about is 21, she is a foster kid too. and i guess is a little slow. i really can't tell, she just seems a little young for her age i guess. so the mom said there are 5 kids, i don't know if she was counting the 21 year old or not.

then wednesday comes and i breathe a sigh of relief! thinking i am going to be left alone now.....no. the girl, ashley, comes over. she is always trying to talk to clay, it is cute, but he is always shy and hides behind me. so she comes and says she doesn't have an excuse to come over anymore since thier phone is on. she chats a bit to clay then goes about her business.

the next day the guy stops....kid in car, and comes up and asks for a cigarette. he chats for a bit...he is just weird!

so ashley is always walking. clay has finally warmed up to her. she would always come over and tickle him, he loved it.

i'm starting to feel bad for ashley. i think the reason these people "got" her was to be a babysitter for the rest of them!

i knew ashley had a doctor's appointment on thursday. i asked her how her appointment went and she told me her mom, donna, went to cleveland for her birthday, so she didnt' get to go to her appointment!! i thought she was going to be back in a day or so. the other day, saturday, she came with some of the kids, clay was loving it!!!!! they were in the back and the kids were loving all the toys! the littler girl asks if they can come back later, ashley said to ask me......me the person who doesn't know how to tell people no.......sure.....i asked if her mom made it back and she said no, she wasn't going to be home til tuesday or wednesday!!!!

****OOOHHH backtrack.....the other day the dude was walking, i was like GREAT! i saw him coming up my walk. he said he was going to do some wash. he had a big trashbag. i was like, oh. then he said he was going out of town, i said oh. then he was like "i might not come back man"........."can i get a hug, i might not be back" and he proceeds to come up and give me a hug!!!!!!! i'm sitting there like HUH??? so later ashley comes over and we ask about him and if he left. she says she doesn't know what he is doing. here it isn't even donna's husband, it is just a boyfriend! bob asked ashley if she liked him and she said no. bob asked why? i was like, please don't tell me something i didn't want to hear..she just said he could be mean sometimes.**** back to the present.

well i felt bad, cause clay NEVER gets to play with other kids, so i told bob he should go see if the kids are going to come over for a bit. next thing i know he comes back with 6 KIDS! and NO ASHLEY!!!!!!

don't ask me names, cause i still don't have that down, but this is what i had:

18 month old
2 year old
4 year old
7 year old
8 year old
10 year old.........and clay!!!!!

next thing i know i know ALL of clay's toys are outside and kids are running around everywhere........

then the 10 year old comes up and asks, "can we eat with you?" i said sorry honey we already ate. so then i felt bad, so i went and got some hotdogs out and made hotdogs on the grill. while i was cooking the 4 year old came up and asked, "do you have any food?" my eyes welled up and i about cried, and told her i was making it.

god i feel terrible for these kids!!!!!!!!!! i don't really think they are being abused, but i just feel bad that i don't think they are getting everything they should. i seriously thought about calling child services, but then i thought they might have it better there than with an other family.

then i feel bad for ashley. that poor girl doesn't EVER get a break! so i wasn't too upset that she wasn't here with the kids. i figure it would give her a break. and the kids weren't bad at all. they were nice, they really look out for the younger ones too.

this all started at about 7:30pm........they did not leave til after 9pm! and after bob emptied our fridge! they left with a ton of juice and yogurt!

oh AND MY DAMN BOUNCY THING IS BROKEN!!!!!

but the good thing is is that clay had a BLAST!!!!!! he loved it!!!!!!!!!


then today ashley comes over with the 10 year old and asked if i could watch her for a bit. i won't get into why, since i still don't get it. so it was actually nice, she occupied clay, and i CLEANED MY WHOLE HOUSE!

CLAY BLEW A GASKET WHEN HE FOUND OUT THAT SHE LEFT! he ran out of the house screaming and crying running towards their house!!! i felt so bad!!

lord! i really regret not having another baby sooner! so it is definitely going to be this year that we get pregnant again!

well i am trying to talk on the phone and type so it is getting pretty hard, so i am out of here, it has already taken an hour to write this.
