~8-3-04~ WHY?!

why does everything have to be a pain in the ass?! i am about fed up with freaking estimate people. so far, it has been a total waste of my time!

the first person i had come out. didn't even give me an estimate. he told me to wait for the insurance company to come out, blah, blah.....i haven't told anyone that i already talked to the insurance people. so he left. the next people i called took forever to finally come out, then when they did, they told us the had to take all the info to the office and work up the numbers. UGH! my cousin's husband came out, gave me everything right there and then! i still wanted other estimates to give the insurance, so the ones that came and had to work out the numbers, was supposed to be here saturday at 1. he never showed, we called, no answer. so i called and bitched out the office answering machine. so today they, he and the office, called and left messages. bob called him, he didn't answer, bob left a message, we still haven't heard from him!

then also today, i had someone from canton aluminum come out. he measured and talked, blah, blah....he said the insuance probably wouldn't cover it all. we were like yeah i know, we just want some numbers on what it is going to cost us.....he writes some shit up and told bob to sign it, and i was like WHOAH, what for. he goes, so when the insuance accepts it we can start the work. well HELLO, we want to know what the hell the cost is going to be, so we would know how much we would have to come up with that the insurance wouldn't cover. he still NEVER gave us that number. i ended up walking out of the room, cause he turned into a "salesman" who doesn't like to close the deal here and now, and i was getting pissed. so that was a waste!

another kid came today, did what he had to do and then dropped the numbers in the mailbox. THANK YOU! that is all i want!! what was his estimate?! $29,250!! WHAT!!!! the guy that never calls back, said it would easily be over $20,000, but upon looking at the estimate again, this guy put on all new windows and doors. what the hell?! i never said any of that. why would i want that when i know the insurace surely isn't going to cover all of that?!

in the meantime, i check my answering machine, and there is a call from my insurance company saying that their siding specialist found a match for our siding, blah, blah, blah. WHAT?! how could they find a match for our siding? it is very old and it is PAINTED, how did they find a match to that?!

so finally we were just like fuck it, we were going to go with my cousin anyways, just wanted to get some more estimates, but i am done with those crooked mother fuckers! they all just want to see how much the insurace is going to give me before they quote me a price which is bullshit! so, he is coming out tomorrow to go over all the stuff the insurace people sent, and we are going to go over all that needs done. we are probably going to have to call the adjuster to "request" a higher settlement to cover everything, hopefully i can talk him into doing all of that, i am not good dealing with people, and neither is bob. fingers crossed that we can finally get all this stuff rolling, so i can at least have some good things to think about for a change!

then i found THIS!!! i love it. if i were to win the lotto, this is what i would get. not to sound corny or stupid, but i have always wanted something like this if i were rich. i already have it all planned out and have room for all my family. i think that would be so great for clay. i would have loved to grow up with my whole family living together. yeah we would probably get on each others nerves, but hell, there is plenty of space where we shouldn't even see each other if we don't want too. ~sigh~ now i have to start playing the lotto i guess!

well nothing was really on tv tonight, so as you can see, i don't have anything interesting to chat about. so i will end the horror that is this entry.
