~8-26-04~ Insurance companies suck!!!!

well so far our insurace company is denying us the additional $900 we are asking for to do our house. and it isn't even the fact that they are denying it, i almost expected it. but the guy was being a total asshole, so now that just makes me want to fight with them more!

so it was probably a big waste of time, but i wrote them a letter today. i stated that i was very disappointed in the treatment our claim was getting. i also stated that every contractor we talked to said it would be cheaper to do our whole house in vinyl, instead of the 2 sides they wanted done in aluminum. also a factor was that on the adjuster's quote he stated that the aluminum siding cost like $58 a square (?), but my cousin who does this stuff, said there is no way that you can get aluminum siding for less than $100. so when we told the insurance guy this on the phone he was like, oh well, that is all we are giving you. that is it.

so i quoted from an insert that they put in every mailing we got from them, which states that they will pay the cost to replace or repair any damage, blah, blah. NO WHERE does it say that they will only pay what they want, or what they say it costs. so i highlighted all that in the letter. i went on and on of course. told them how i have been a loyal customer to them for my home and auto for years, and so has my family.......how we chose them as insurance company for their reputation for caring and protecting their clients needs, blah, blah......i even ended it stating that i would be happy with any help they could give us to offset the $900 difference, just something to show that they are on our side, and that they are trying to work with us, especially after all the money we give them every month and year for chosing their company for our insurance needs.

it probably won't make a difference, but at least i got to say my peace. i wanted to leave all that on a voicemail, but noone at the damn place has a voicemail!!!! i don't do well speaking with real live people. i do better in the letter department. so if they call in regards to the letter, i'll let bob talk to them. i'll post the whole letter later. you can see all my bad grammar, and run on sentences in all their glory! haha! i'm usually proud of my letters, but i had to do this during my cigarette breaks today, so i really had no time. plus i was trying to get it done before the mailman came....didn't make it.

so it is thursday and i have not one thing done yet for clay's party saturday! yes we wait til the last minute to do everything! it just wouldn't be me to do other wise!

i planned on going on a rant about children's television and how some shows just piss my shit off, but it is after 1, and so far this week i have been doing good by being in bed by 1. not that i am any less tired in the morning, but at least i can say, i wasn't up all night!!!!! so i'll save my kids tv bashing until tomorrow night!
